From the cnn Center in Atlanta, I'm Nicole Lapin. Thanks so much for checking in with us today. Here's a look at what's happening right NOW IN THE NEWS.

A chaotic scene earlier today as the body of assassinated former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was carried out of the hospital. It will be taken to Karachi where she was born. Bhutto was killed in a suicide bombing after a rally in Rawalpindi. A government official was now saying that it appears that she died from bullet wounds. It's not clear, however, if she was shot or if her wounds were caused by bomb shrapnel. At least 22 others were killed by the bomber.

Investigators are now trying to find out how a three-hundred-pound tiger escaped its exhibit area to kill one person and injure two others. A newspaper report is now saying that police found a shoe and blood inside a gate of the tiger's enclosure, leading to speculation that one of the victims may have taunted that giant jungle cat. Police have not confirmed that story and still unknown is how the tiger exactly crossed 25 to 30 feet of that moat around its area.

A relative of six people found dead in Washington State is now in jail along with her boyfriend. Police say that the pair are now being held for investigation of homicide. The suspects apparently live in a mobile home on the property where the bodies were found. It's located near Carnation, Washington, which is actually east to Seattle. The victims are likely three generations of the same family. The oldest were in their sixties, the youngest about three years old.

The only survivor in that plane crash in Panama, a 13-year-old American girl was finally with her parents. She survived two days in the mountains where authorities found her underneath an airplane wing.

All right, so what is the common denominator between Bette Davis,flags and baseball? Well, you've guessed it. There are the pictures. They are all going to be honored with US postage stamps next year 2008, marking several centennial milestones including anniversary of Davis's birth and the debut of the song"Take Me Out to the Ball Game". The New Year also marks the launch of Flags of Our Nation a 60-stamp collection.
