Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has told British Prime Minister Gordon Brown that he is willing to accept international help to investigate Benazir Bhutto's death. Meantime ,Bhutto's 19-year-old son has been named the new chairman of the Pakistan People's Party. He'll take over for her after he finishes his university studies. Bhutto's husband says he won't ask for an autopsy on his wife's body. He says it would be an insult and he has lived in Pakistan long enough, quote, "to know how the autopsies are done". He has asked the United Nations to investigate her death.
Today marks one year since the execution of Saddam Hussein. Iraqi security forces are on high alert around the country. Hundreds of people visited the former Iraqi leader's burial site in his hometown of Tikrit.
Kenya is grappling with unrest after the closest fought election in the nation's history. Incumbent President Mwai Kibaki was sworn in at the presidential palace after the electoral commission declared him the winner. Meanwhile, violence has broken out across the country as the opposition accuses the government of doctoring the results. At least fifteen people have been killed there since Saturday.
US presidential candidates making a fiercest final push for votes in Iowa. Democrats Hillary Clinton ,Barack Obama and John Edwards are in a virtual tie. And on the Republican side, polls show Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee in a statistical dead heat. The state's caucuses are on this coming Thursday.
182 United Airline's passengers in Kansas City Missouri are being rerouted to new flights after their plane got stuck in mud. The plane was taxiing to a Kansas city runway when the pilot made a wrong turn in the fog. No one was injured and the plane has since been towed out.
