Hello, I'm Josh Levs, at the cnn. com newsroom in Atlanta, here's a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.
A huge storm continues to pound parts of California with high winds and heavy snow. Forecasters say the storm could dump as much as 10 feet of snow in the Sierra Nevada by the end of the weekend. In southern California, the big concern is mudslides and flash floods from heavy rains, particularly in the areas scorched by wildfires just a few months back.
Now to the race for the White House. The candidates spent Saturday cutting a frenzy trial across New Hampshire, all ahead of the debates in Manchester. The state's primary, the first of the year was on Tuesday. And cnn project that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney wins the Wyoming Republican caucuses held Saturday. With 58% of the caucuses reporting, Romney has won 6 of Wyoming's 12 delegates. Former Senator Fred Thompson has won one delegate and California congressman Duncan Hunter has won one as well.
The husband of slain Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto tells the Washington Post that Pakistani officials played a role in his wife's assassination. He says any investigation the government participates in won't be credible. He has also called on the UN to open an independent investigation into her death. Meantime, British investigators have surveyed the site of Bhutto's attack. Officials have also retraced the route she took following her final campaign rally.
The violence continues in Nairobi despite diplomatic strides. President Mwai Kibaki says he is willing to form a unity government. The opposition says it's willing to negotiate but continues to demand Mr. Kibaki step down.
While in the high definition technology battle, Blue Ray has won again. Warner Brothers Entertainment now says it will stop using Toshiba's HD-DVD format. From now on, its movies will only go on Sony's Blue Ray disc. Warner Brothers which is owned by cnn parent company, Time Warner, is the fifth movie studio to back Blue Ray.
