There'd been more torrential downfalls across the Swat Valley where we were today, compounding the misery of the tens of thousands of people, uh, millions of people affected by this disaster, and now there are severe flood warnings further south in Pakistan, in the Punjab, raising the prospect that this could all spread much further. UNECF says that some 3 million people are affected by this terrible flood, and half of those are children, and there is obviously a big international response building up already.

An employee at Hartford Distributors showed up at work this morning, and fired on his coworkers using a rifle. This happened around 7:30 this morning, about 35-40 people were inside the warehouse, and the offices, when this gunman just opened fire. And a police source close to the investigation tells cnn that 9 people are dead, 8 including the gunman. And we are hearing that the gunman's name was Omar Thornton, Thornton, he's 34 years old, and was apparently recently hired as a driver for Hartford Distributors. Union officials had labeled him as someone with a disciplinary problem and the idea was this morning that Thornton was supposed to go with a union official this morning to talk with company officials to try to resolve this issue, but instead what happened was the shooting, no word, if the meeting ever had a chance to get started.

And there is expected to be this dazzling light show sometimes tonight or early tomorrow, because of those rays that you can see blasting off the sun, there through the top of your screen. It’s headed our way; the eruption called coronal mass ejection was caught on camera by NASA's solar dynamic observatory, spacecraft that launched up back in February.

Sky watchers should look toward the north on the evening of Aug 3rd, Aug 4th, the rippling currents of green and red light, isn't that awesome, this is the one that was taken a couple of years ago, by our i-reporter Ajman Persey, and it's possible, that what you see tonight could be just as cool.
