[00:17.42]Simon:Hi,Anna.Fancy meeting you here!Anna:Well,hello, Simon!
[00:23.72]Haven't seen you for years.What have you been up to?
[00:29.62]I heard you went to work right after you graduated from high school.
[00:35.71]Simon:That's right.I work for an insurance company--
[00:40.62]I'm district manager,to be exact.
[00:44.72]I'm in charge of sales for the whole region.
[00:49.01]I make sure all the new policies are in order,
[00:53.39]and train new salespeople as well.Anna:You must be busy.
[00:59.38]Simon:I am.I work so hard during the week
[01:04.37]that I never feel like doing anything on the weekends.
[01:08.86]How's your life?Anna:I'm a senior at Stanford University.
[01:15.08]Simon:I envy you.Students have an easy life!Anna:What?We do not!
[01:22.08]I have three term papers to turn in this week--
[01:27.07]and that's in addition to a lot of other homework.
[01:32.16]Sometimes I study all night just to keep up with my courses.
[01:38.14]Simon:But you don't have to go school every day,I bet.
[01:42.84]Anna:Well,no,but that doesn't mean I have lots of free time.

[01:53.14]I'm at school from 8 in the morning until 8 at night,

[04:55.24]it is my special pleasure to welcome our new staff member,
[05:00.93]Mr.White,who has come here from the United States.
[05:06.02]Mr.White has recently graduated from the University of Chicago,
[05:12.92]where he majored in English and majored in Teaching English
[05:18.41]as a Second Language.
[05:21.70]Mr.White will be working mostly with our daytime classes,
[05:28.20]and he has also graciously consented
[05:32.88]to take some of our evening classes.
[05:36.88]He will be with us here for at least two years.
[05:42.07]One of the goals of our school,in addition to teaching English,
[05:48.26]is to promote understanding and cooperation
[05:53.57]between the young people of our two countries.
