[12:25.72]Now let us look at the qualities of a good language leaner
[12:32.09]I think motivation is certainly going to be very high in our list
[12:37.97]There are two types of motivation.
[12:42.15]One is external motivation this is the kind of motivation
[12:48.76]which persuades a student to learn a language
[12:53.36]in order to pass an examination.
[12:57.46]The opposite of this is integrative motivation,
[13:02.45]which gets an immigrant in a country
[13:06.52]to master the language much more rapidly
[13:11.09]than someone learning in a classroom.
[13:15.17]Personality is another major factor.
[13:19.45]Er... I'm not necessarily saying
[13:24.15]that you need to be extroverted
[13:28.75]but someone who has the confidence to make mistakes
[13:33.24]can learn much more quickly
[13:37.24]than someone who is afraid to experiment.
[13:41.73]Intelligence isn't a factor in language learning
