歌手简介

1999年，美国乡村音乐人Gary Allen（加里·艾伦）发行经典力作“Smoke rings in the dark”（《黑暗中的烟圈》），凭借一幅略带沙哑又饱含深情的忧伤嗓音，“烟圈”自此奠定了Allen稳固的乐坛地位。

这个桔镇出生，加州成长的歌手从小便显示出过人的音乐天赋——12岁和父亲及哥哥在酒吧靠表演谋生，14岁自己创作歌曲，15岁成为唱片公司的签约歌手。多年来，Gary Allen凭借在各张专辑中日渐成熟的演绎，缔造了多首排行榜上的冠军单曲，包括“It would be you”（1998年专辑《It would be you》）、“Man to man”（2001年专辑《Alright guy》）、“tough little boys”（2003年专辑《See if I care》）。

Gary Allen一直被认为是乡村音乐重镇Nashville（纳什维尔）的一张王牌。1999年，“Smoke rigns in the dark”一经推出，Allen随即获得“最性感乡村歌手”奖。2003年，处于事业顶峰的Allen又获CMA（乡村音乐学会）表彰的Horizon（“水平线奖”）。

2004年，妻子突然自杀给Allen带来了巨大打击。为求在音乐中藉慰伤痛，Garry Allen发行第六张专辑《Tough all over》，其中，有四首曲子是Allen为亡妻而作。该专辑可以说是Garry Allen最个人化情感的完全体现，很喜欢专辑中的一首翻唱曲目“Best I ever had”，系美国新生代另类摇滚乐团“Vertical horizon”于2001年缔造的排行抒情佳作。
