简介

回望70年代的 Disco 音乐，虽然经典的乐团或歌星有不少，但当中也有无数 One Hit Wonder，非常有趣，他们主唱的歌曲不多，但至今已成经典之作，1976年有 The Wild Cherry 的 Play That Funky Music。本来是唱 Rock Music 的 Wild Cherry 在 Disco音乐的热潮下，经常被观众要求 Play That Funky Music，于是他们灵机一触，就以这一句创作了同名歌曲。然而这首新歌不单演唱时受欢迎，也引起 Epic 唱片注意，跟他们签约。于是1976年Play That Funk Music 登上 Billboard 流行榜冠军达3星期，R&B 榜成冠达两星期，而英国榜则得到第7位，成为该年度大热歌曲，而且被提名 Grammy 的Best New Vocal Group及Best R&BPerformance by a Group or Duo，又得到American Music Award的Top R&B Single奖项。可惜他们的运气并不长久，1977年后发了几张专辑都不成功，乐队最终拆伙收场。
