乐团简介

以德州的奥斯汀为大本营的Sixpence None the Richer，其实已经有着将近十年的历史。早在90年代初期，吉他手/大提琴手麦特史洛坎（Matt Slocum）在教堂的活动中遇见了女歌手莲儿纳许（Leigh Nash），不久又加上了一位贝司手，成立了一支三人组合，并且在1993年取得一家独立品牌的合约。随着乐团成员的增加和他们在音乐上的进步，他们在流行乐界＆福音乐界都得到极大的喜爱，清新优美的曲调，生活化地叙述着“与主亲近”的甜蜜。

美国是世界上最大的基督教国家，有关基督教的音乐在美国也是个极大的商业市场。很多打“宗教牌”的歌手或者乐队虽然才华平平，知名度低，却因为有教会专门组织教友进行购买往往专辑卖得很好，SNTR也是这类被称作“CHRISTIAN POP/ROCK”乐派中的一员。乐队的作曲兼吉他手MATT就是在某次散会的途中遇到主唱LEIGH的，乐队名称来自作家C. S. Lewis的“Mere Christianity”书中的情节。
