仅仅16岁的Martin用他超凡的毅力和才华获得全场观众的喝彩，所有人都知道他一定会是最后的胜者。2007年5月5日总决赛，Martin破天荒用自己的原创歌曲"I Can Reach Heaven From Here"来进行最后一搏，当然这首充满唯美气息的钢琴摇滚曲后来幸运地收录在2008年这张处女专辑里。虽然成为了亚军（冠军被Mark Medlock夺走）但这并不代表Martin的失败，唱片公司早已看中这个帅气的小才子，专辑，单曲，演出合同接踵而至，17岁的Martin做到了所有同龄人无法做到的事，事实上他已经是冠军了。
