Importation of fine arts will be made easier in the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone.
According to a statement from the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Shanghai, importers in the Free Trade Zone will no longer need the Compulsory Certificate to import works listed in the catalogue.
China is the world's second largest art market with a trading volume of more than 6 billion U.S. dollars last year. Many imported art works have found themselves stranded at customs for having no certificate.
The certificate is a compulsory safety mark for many items imported, sold or used in China.
Since the launch of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone in 2013, China has used it to test a number of new policies including negative list management of foreign investment, preferential trade and financial policies, and opening up more industries to foreign investors.

The Chinese government will provide a daily nutrition packet for more than one million children under the age of two in poverty-stricken areas this year.
The move is part of a national nutrition program launched in 2012, to improve nutrition for rural newborns and reduce physical and psychological defects.
The packet is dairy products enriched with protein, vitamin, calcium, zinc and other nutrient necessary for the children.
Infants in rural areas have suffered from anemia and malnutrition. Breast feeding rate is low with the newborns lacking proper intake of trace elements.
Apart from nutritional supplement, the health authorities will also provide more early-education services to help rural parents interact with the newborns.

China will bring athletics events to city streets.
The high jump event of the China Athletics Elite series will be held in Beijing's outdoor shopping mall "Solana" on July 11, while the pole vault competition will be held in "The Place" on August 8, also an outdoor shopping center.
This is the first time for China to hold athletics events in city streets.
Xue Chang-rui, national record holder of the event and winner of last year's Continental Cup of the International Amateur Athletic Federation, said the event will give people a closer look at pole vaulting.
China's high-level athletics competition had already come to universities, as the first stage of the China Athletics Elite took place in Tsinghua University on May 8.
