[27:38.46]John(M): Hi, Cindy.
[27:40.43]Cindy(W): Hello, John.
[27:41.51]M: Did you enjoy Bob’s party the other night?
[27:44.08]W: Yes, I did. It was really nice to see everyone again after all these years.
[27:49.34]I could hardly recognize Nancy. She used to be such a tomboy.
[27:53.71]Now she is so beautiful and elegant.
[27:56.65]M: As the old saying goes: A girl changes fast and becomes beautiful.
[28:01.46]You know, she has married a general manager with a large company.
[28:05.94]W: Really? But she deserves it.
[28:08.80]M: James must feel sorry to hear it.
[28:11.53]He and she used to be good friends in our class.
[28:13.94]W: I know what you mean.
[28:15.48]M: Anyway, what about that holiday we were talking about?
[28:18.75]Do you still want to go ahead with it?
[28:20.22]W: You bet I do! I’ve been very busy at work and I really need a break.
[28:24.70]You know, just lie in the sun and relax.
[28:27.53]M: Are you kidding?
[28:28.84]I was thinking about something more active, like sightseeing or swimming.
[28:32.78]Maybe even surfing if you are up to it.
[28:35.30]W: I think I could be persuaded. Yes, why not? Surfing sounds like fun to me.
[28:40.55]Then what destination do you have in mind?
[28:43.57]M: Well, I called the travel agent this morning and picked up some brochures.
[28:48.28]Here, take a look. I have got one on the South of France which looks nice.
[28:53.52]Or there’s Italy if you fancy some culture. Or of course, there’s Greece.
[28:57.89]W: Greece sounds good. I haven’t been there before. Look at that picture.
[29:02.93]Blue sky, white sands and a beautiful clear blue sea.
[29:07.74]M: I know. But have you seen the price? 450 pounds for one week.
[29:12.33]And that doesn’t include the hotel!
[29:15.07]W: Yeah, it is a bit expensive, isn’t it? What about the South of France?
[29:19.56]M: That’s a lot cheaper. In fact there is a special deal on at the moment.
[29:23.49]10 days, including the hotel, for only 250 pounds.
[29:28.30]W: Let’s have a look at Italy.
[29:29.85]M: I already have. It’s far too expensive.
[29:33.10]W: France it is then, I think. But can we choose the hotel?
[29:37.25]I don’t want to get there and find
[29:39.01]they’ve put us up in a really cheap place miles away from the beach.
[29:42.73]M: No problem. There are three hotels to choose from. This one looks the best.
[29:47.24]W: Which one? Paradise Rock or the Sea View?
[29:49.73]M: The Paradise Rock. It’s only a 10-minute walk from the beach.
[29:53.83]Half that if you take a bus. And breakfast is included in the price.
[29:58.31]We do have to pay a surcharge, though.
[30:00.86]W: How much?
[30:01.88]M: 10 pounds. But I guess it’s worth it.
[30:05.17]The location is great and they even have an outdoor swimming pool.
[30:08.68]W: What about a gym?
[30:10.14]M: Oh yes, they have a gym that the guests can use.
[30:13.51]W: That’s OK. The hotel sounds great.
[30:16.26]And the price is certainly too good to miss. So when shall we go?
[30:20.85]M: The offer doesn’t apply to June, or July for that matter.
[30:24.79]So I guess it’ll have to be May or August.
[30:27.83]W: August is too far away.
[30:29.60]I feel tired and desperately need a holiday, so May gets my vote.
[30:34.96]M: May is fine for me too. Now we need to plan our schedule.
[30:39.44]I guess we can plan a day when we just indulge ourselves in water sports.
[30:44.22]W: I don’t mind really. Nothing too strenuous though.
[30:47.92]How about a spot of fishing while we are there?
[30:50.99]M: Why not? Maybe we’ll be able to catch our lunch?
[30:53.83]W: Don’t bet on it. You know what my fishing skills are like!
[30:57.44]Just a minute. Isn’t there a film festival on in May?
[31:00.95]M: Yes, there is. It’s a full three day event I believe.
[31:04.44]W: You are not suggesting we spend a full three days there, are you?
[31:08.58]M: Not at all. Maybe half a day will be enough.
[31:11.96]W: Let’s make it a day.
[31:13.50]M: OK. Then put down a few days on the beach.
[31:16.88]I can’t come back without a suntan.
[31:18.75]W: What do you think, three days or four?
[31:21.69]M: Make it four, plus a day’s shopping.
[31:24.50]W: A day’s shopping. OK.
[31:26.12]M: And the other days?
[31:28.21]W: Well, tell you what, why don’t we go to the library and get a guide book?
[31:34.05]That’ll give us more ideas.
