娱乐英语新闻:Susan Boyle cancels trip to Chinese Music Awards
BEIJING, Feb. 25 -- Scottish singer Susan Boyle has cancelled her trip to the 2010 Chinese Music Awards on March 28 because of her busy schedule, the "Legal Evening News" reports.
The 2009 "Britain's Got Talent" contestant and internet sensation had accepted an invitation from the sponsor of the 14th Channel V Chinese Music Awards, the mainland's biggest music awards ceremony. Boyle had planned to arrive for the awards on March 28 and fly to Shanghai for a performance three days later.
But the singer's plans changed when she found it difficult to catch up with her pressing schedule, the report said, citing a source with Sony Music, Boyle's record producer.
Boyle currently is focusing most of her attention on promotional activities in the UK and some other countries, the report said.

Despite news of Boyle's cancellation, the organizer of the Chinese Music Awards announced on its official website on Wednesday that the singer would come to China for the ceremony. The debut album of the 48-year-old singer, "I Dreamed a Dream," hit store shelves on the Chinese mainland on January 19. So far, its sales in China have reached those of Michael Jackson's "This Is It," according to the report.
Although Susan Boyle was snubbed by the Brit Awards earlier this year, her debut album has become the fastest-selling record in British history and already sold millions of copies.
