娱乐英语新闻:"Eclipse" to premiere at LA film festival

LOS ANGELES, May 4 (Xinhua) -- "Eclipse", the third installment of the "The Twilight Saga" film series, will make its debut at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June, organizers said on Tuesday.

The romantic-fantasy film, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, is slated to hit cinemas two weeks after the film festival kicked off with a scheduled screening of some 200 feature movies.

Organizers of the Los Angeles Film Festival hold "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" as one of the high-profile films on their slate. "Eclipse" is preceded by "Twilight" in 2008 and "New Moon" in 2009.

Joining the newest Summit Entertainment production at the film festival will be Focus Features' "The Kids Are All Right", Universal Pictures' 3-D CGI feature "Despicable Me", Sony Pictures Classics' "Animal Kingdom" and Paramount Vantage's "Waiting for Superman".

But a "World Premiere" is listed as a "Bonus by Invitation Screening", which means among the numerous Stephenie Meyer fans, only a lucky few can get the opportunity to get into the show.

This year's Los Angeles film festival, the 16th edition, is moving from its long-time home in Westwood to downtown Los Angeles, where the screenings will take place on bigger and more modern L.A. Live screens.

Organizers have summed up the synopsis of the "Eclipse" in their website:

"Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge.

"In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf."
