娱乐英语新闻:Lindsay Lohan to play 70s porn star Linda Lovelace
BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Lindsay Lohan is set to play the late porn star Linda Lovelace in "Inferno", according to the movie producer Wali Razaqi.
"We’ve all thought that Lindsay would be a great choice for a while now, and we’re all convinced that she is going to do it,” Razaqi said, according to media report Thursday.
It is described as "one of the most challenging roles any actor could play" to portray the "Deep Throat" superstar who later became a feminist crusader against pornography.
To interpret the complex Linda Lovelace, talented 24-year-old Lohan will concentrate on "difficult stuff she went through and overcame," as Razaqi put it to the Los Angeles Times.
Razaqi suggested that Lohan's personal experience would better equip her to pull off Lovelace, saying: "she's been through a lot of ups and downs. A lot of times you're loved and then you're hated, and I think she can relate to those emotions and feelings."
Linda Lovelace starred in the film "Deep Throat" in 1972, and she became a household name after the film became a full fledged pop culture phenomenon.
Lovelace revealed that her husband pointed a gun on her head during the off scene moments of "Deep Throat." She died in 2002 of injuries suffered during an automobile accident.
