BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. teen idol and pop singer Miley Cyrus reveals her sexy side in a racy music video for her new single, which features the 17 year-old pole dancer in bold outfits.

In the video for "Can't be Tamed", the Disney Channel teen sensation is wearing black bird wings, thigh-high boots, and dancing inside a giant birdcage.

Eventually Cyrus breaks free with the help of her gyrating backup dancers. She sings, "If you're going to be my man, understand, I can't be tamed."

"The video isn't about being sexy or about who can wear less clothes. It's about explaining the song and living the lyrics," she told celebrity web site E! Online. "I don't want to be in a cage. I want to be free and do what I love."

"For me it's never been about fitting in. I'd rather stand out," says Cyrus of the title track to her upcoming album, due in stores June 22. "People can relate to it. So many people feel like you have to be one way to fit in."

"It's the first step to growing up but I think it's done the right way," says Cyrus of her video. "I'm really proud of it."

Cyrus rose to worldwide fame in 2006 after playing the leading role in the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana." Following the success of the films, she launched a singing career which gave her four No.1 Billboard albums in three years.

In 2008, Cyrus was listed in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in The World.Forbes magazine ranked her No. 35 on the "Celebrity 100" list for earning 25 million U.S. dollars in 2008.
