ODENSE, Denmark, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- The 25th Odense International Film Festival (OFF) kicked off here on Monday to feature 120 short films alongside a variety of special events.
The festival gathered film makers and experts around the world to meet and debate films, and most importantly, to show the world creative and innovative films.
Countries including China, Australia, Israel, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, France, Germany and Sweden will be represented at the festival.
"OFF is about showing some of the world's best short films but moreover, to show the world new ways to think films", said Mikkel Munch-Fals, artistic director of the film festival.
Many short films from aspiring talents -- emerging or more experienced -- will be showed at the festival. The audience will also have chance to watch long documentaries, feature films and animated films.
The competition program offers a solid bid on where to direct one's attention in the attempt to spot the great film makers of the future, he added.
"Beijing Punk" co-produced by the United States, China, Australia and the United Kingdom, participated in the competition program.
Odense International Film Festival, an annual event for short and documentary films, made its debut in 1985. The festival will end on Saturday.
