娱乐英语新闻:"Modern Family," "Mad Men" big winners at Emmy Awards

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- ABC's "Modern Family" won the prize for Outstanding Comedy Series at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony held at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night, while AMC series "Mad men" walked away as winner of best drama.
"Modern Family," a series about a disarmingly dysfunctional family became the biggest winner, taking home the best comedy prize, the supporting-actor Emmy for Eric Stonestreet and the outstanding writing award for creators Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd.

Leading all winners at the Emmy Awards with five statuettes is HBO's TV movie "Temple Grandin," a true-life story of an autistic woman who becomes an expert in animal husbandry.

Actor Bryan Cranston collected his third consecutive Emmy for best actor in a drama series for his portrayal as Walter White in AMC series "Breaking Bad"During the time it took me to walk up here, I venture there were 200 text messages to my fellow nominees saying 'you were robbed,' and I cannot argue with that," he said.

Sedgwick won her first prize as best drama actress for her role as a hard-nosed police detective in "The Closer." She thanked all the people behind the scenes for helping her win the award, saying that "I am so incredibly grateful."

The awards covered programs that initially aired between June 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010.
