娱乐英语新闻:"Mad Men," "30 Rock" among nominees for 2011 Writers Guild Awards
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Winners of this year's Writers Guild Awards -- AMC drama "Mad Men" and NBC's comedy "30 Rock" -- were among the shows that have been nominated on Wednesday for the 2011 Writers Guild Award for television writing.
Leading the nominees for drama series, "Mad Men" was followed by another hit from AMC "Breaking Bad," and "Boardwalk Empire," Dexter," "Friday Night Lights." The writers of "Mad Men" walked away with the honor at this year's presentation ceremony.
In comedy category, "30 Rock" leads a strong pack which also includes "Glee," "Modern Family," "Nurse Jackie" and "The Office."
"30 Rock" won the award at the 62nd annual award event, while " Modern Family" landed best new series honor.
For this year's best new series award, "Boardwalk Empire," " Justified," "Men of a Certain Age," "Treme" and "The Walking Dead" were nominated.
The 2011 Writers Guild Awards will be presented Feb. 5 simultaneously at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel-Grand Ballroom in Los Angeles and the AXA Equitable Center in New York City, the Writers Guild of America(WGA) said.
The WGA Awards for motion picture writing will be announced Jan. 4.
