LOS ANGELES, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Popular Canadian rock singer and song-writer Bryan Adams, whose musical career was crowned by a Grammy Award in 1992, was honored with the 2,435th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a late-morning ceremony held Monday.

"I'm humbled at the induction of my name," Adams said at a ceremony held in front of the Musicians Institute on Hollywood Boulevard. "It's fantastic."

At the event, which comes in the midest of a tour that includes an April 9 concert at the Royce Hall in the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the diplomat's son also thanked a long list of people for making his success possible, including his mother, the songwriters and concert promoters with whom he has worked.

Adams, 51, who is poised to become a first-time father, rose to stardom in 1983 with the release of his third album, "Cuts Like A Knife." However, it was his fourth album "Reckless," which is referred to as one of the best albums of the eighties that made him an international superstar and gave him his first Grammy nomination.

In 1991, Adams released the sixth studio album "Waking Up The Neighbours" which featured the single "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You." The song sold more than 3 million copies in the United States, becoming the second best selling single, second only to "We Are The World." The song also brought to him a Grammy Award for best song specifically written for a motion picture or for television, as well as an American Music Award in 1992 as favorite pop/rock single.

Adams also has 14 other Grammy nominations. He was also nominated for the Academy Awards three times and the Golden Globe Awards five times.

The popular singer also performed in the opening ceremony for the 2010 Winter Olympics and at halftime of the 2003 Grey Cup, the championship game of the Canadian Football League.

His other honors include 18 Juno Awards, which honor outstanding achievements by Canadian musical artists and bands; an MTV Video Music Award for best stage performance video for "It's Only Love"; and the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement.

Adams is also an accomplished photographer. His work was published in high-end publications and has been on display in museums and galleries in New York City, London, Paris, Rome, Germany and Canada.
