娱乐英语新闻:Kate Middleton on diet: not to be a bride, but Bridezilla

2011-04-13来源:Xinhuanet

BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Kate Middleton has always been super-svelte, but when she and Prince William tie the knot later this month, she will probably look more slender and handsome.

She is on diet now as her Big Day is looming. Kate's blue outfit hung from her barely-there frame when she stepped out with Prince William for her last public appearance before she becomes Princess Catherine.

Tens of thousands of people will line the streets of London and a global audience will be glued to their TV when she gets married in 17 days’ time.

Brides especially are often highly motivated to reach a healthy weight and get in great shape because they're “the star of the show,” says Robyn Flipse, a registered dietitian and co-author of The Wedding Dress Diet.

Taking a healthy approach to weight can make the difference between being a glowing bride and Bridezilla, she says.

But Flipse says those who try to lose 20 kg in the couple of weeks before the wedding by dieting or starving are going to show up feeling drained and, as thus, recommends allowing about six months to achieve this or so.

Exercise is key. Brides often focus on toning their upper arms and upper body, which may be visible in their dress; men often focus on the upper body and abs to be sure their cummerbund isn't too snug.

Getting married in front of two billion people would make anyone a bit jittery and Kate Middleton confessed as much to a well-wisher and told fans she could not believe the date had come around so soon.
