娱乐英语新闻:Lindsay Lohan free from house arrest after 35 days
BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan was officially released Wednesday after 35 days of house arrest, according to media reports Thursday.
"I'm excited to start community service and focus on my work," Lohan spoke to TMZ before she went outside for the first time in 35 days.
The "Mean Girls" star was then spotted going into the Downtown Women's Center in Los Angeles, to start completing her 480 hours of community service.
Actress Lindsay Lohan arrives in court in Los Angeles, California June 23, 2011. Lohan, currently serving a home detention sentence, was ordered Wednesday back to court on an allegation she violated her probation in a drunken driving case, a court official said. |
Lohan was sentenced in May to 120 days in jail, but the 24 year-old actress qualified for a shorter period of house arrest under programs for nonviolent offenders and to reduce overcrowding in Los Angeles jails.
The next step for Lohan is to start filming a movie about New York crime boss John Gotti later this year with co-stars John Travolta and Al Pacino.
