娱乐英语新闻:Quaids claim they are hunted by group that kill movie stars

BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Randy Quaid, an American actor, and his wife, fear to return to the Unites Sates as they think they are being persecuted by a mysterious group they call the Star Whackers, according to news reports Monday.

Quaid and his wife were accused of vandalizing a rented hillside home, in Santa Barbara, California. But before they were notified to appear in court, the couple had traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia. And they were arrested by the Canadian police.

"I feel like we've been driven out of the country and that the door's been slammed behind us," Quaid told the Associated Press in a phone interview Friday. "And for what, these phony little trespassing, vandalism charges? Santa Barbara can sleep better tonight knowing the Quaids are out of their hair."

The Quaids claim that traveling to Canada was to save their lives from a clan which they believe killed actors Heath Ledger and David Carradine, and they believe their lives are threatened and called for an investigation into the case.

The Quaidas have already missed several court appearances in the case. And last week, a judge issued two 50,000 dollar arrest warrants for the Quaidas.

Randy Quaid became famous for his role as Gousin Eddie in the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies, and his supporting roles in such films as "The Last Detail," "Independence Day,""Kingpin" and "Brokeback Mountain."
