娱乐英语新闻:"Oslo August 31" wins best film award at Stockholm film festival
STOCKHOLM, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Norwegian film "Oslo August 31" by Danish-born director Joachim Trier has won the best film award at the 22nd Stockholm International Film Festival which ended on Sunday.
"The Bronze Horse Prize for best film goes to a film with intelligent dialogue, brilliant photography and astounding performances from the actors, a perfectly painted portrait of a generation," said the organizers of the festival in a statement.
Having a Norwegian mother who was active in film-making in the 1950s, Trier started making award winning short films while attending film school. "Oslo August 31" is his second feature film.
This year's best actress award went to Swedish Yohanna Idha for her role as Linda in "Certain People" and the best actor award went to Russian Sergei Boriskov for his role as Andrei in "Twilight Portrait."
Best cinematography award went to Jakob Ihre for "Oslo August 31" while best Music award went to Khaled Mouzannar.
French actress Isabelle Huppert received 2011 Stockholm Lifetime Achievement Award while Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu received 2011 Visionary Award.
A total of 173 films from 44 countries and regions were presented during the 12-day-film festival.
