LOS ANGELES, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Old faces on the U.S. rap music scene, including Kanye West and Jay-Z, and a slew of newcomers dominate the nominations for the 55th Grammy Awards.

A new crop of young nominees were unveiled at a one-hour concert held Wednesday night at Nashville, Tennessee's Bridgestone Arena, as young singers Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons, Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, indie-pop group fun, and veterans Kanye West and Jay-Z each garnered six nods.

New York-based fun won a nod for record of the year, one of the most important categories among the 81 announced, for the hit "We Are Young," a collaboration with Janelle Manae. The song, along with Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," was also nominated for song of the year, along with "The A Team" by Ed Sheeran, "Adorn" by Miguel, and "Call Me Maybe," a Carly Rae Jepsen radio/Internet smash hit.

In the album of the year category, Ohio-based rockers The Black Keys landed a nod for the honor for "El Camino." Fun ("Some Nights"), Ocean "Channel Orange"), Mumford & Sons ("Babel"), and Jack White ("Blunderbuss") are also on the list.

The Black Keys, jazz pianist Chick Corea and R&B artist Miguel each garnered five nominations. Producer Jeff Bhasker, mastering engineer Bob Ludwig and rapper Nas each earned four.

Taylor Swift, a winner of six Grammies, collected three nods. She and L.L. Cool J hosted the concert, featuring a tribute to country legend Johnny Cash.

The 55th Grammy Awards will be presented Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and be broadcast on CBS.
