娱乐英语新闻:Hollywood movie-maker in Moscow for Snowden's film
MOSCOW, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Hollywood film director Oliver Stone arrived here Thursday to discuss his film with fugitive U.S. intelligence whistleblower Edward Snowden.
"We work on the film screenplay and hope to start the movie production in the early 2015," RIA Novosti news agency quoted Stone as saying.
The director added that he and Snowden's Russian lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena, have been working together for about a year.
In his novel "Time of The Octopus," Kucherena described the saga of the former U.S. National Security Agency's employee. The book's copyright was sold to Stone earlier.
"Everything goes okay," Stone said, adding his movie "The Snowden's Files" will be based also on the book written by a British journalist and media reports. The role of Snowden will be performed by U.S. actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Snowden has been keeping low profile since he was granted an asylum in Russia in August 2013, as he faces three felony charges including espionage after he unveiled a highly classified U.S. intelligence project code-named PRISM.
The United States and Russia have been at odds over Snowden's extradition, with Moscow repeatedly denying the case, citing absence of relevant bilateral agreements.
