娱乐英语新闻:Berlinale 2015 to focus on women, indigenous cinema
BERLIN, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- The 65th Berlin International Film Festival will focus on women and indigenous cinema, said Berlin Film Festival Director Dieter Kosslick on Tuesday in Berlin.
Indigenous cinema is a "general theme" of the film festival, said Dieter Kosslick, adding that Latin America is the focus of this year's program.
Meanwhile, the issue of women will also be a focus of the upcoming Berlinale, beginning with the opening night film "Nobody Wants the Night" by the Spanish director Isabel Coixet.
"A very great film with strong women and strong images," said Kosslick.
As Tuesday marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by Soviet soldiers, Kosslick also mentioned "The Memory of Justice", a seven-hour digital world premiere of War Crimes documentation of Marcel Ophuls at the presentation of the program.
The 65th Berlin International Film Festival, which runs from Feb. 5 to 15, 2015, will be opened by the film "Nobody Wants the Night" of Spanish director Isabel Coixet.
This year, the film festival will present a total of 441 films from 72 countries, with 19 films vying for the Golden and Silver Bears.
