娱乐英语新闻:Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren, and Diane Lane Talk "Trumbo" at Special NY Screening
BEIJING, Nov.5 (Xinhuanet) -- Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren and Diane Lane attend a special screening of their new film "Trumbo," Tuesday night at New York's Museum of Modern Art.
The movie tells the life story of Dalton Trumbo from being Hollywood's top screenwriter to being jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs, and then using words and wit to win two Academy Awards.
Cranston is known for his award winning performances as the Meth-making Walter White in the AMC series, "Breaking Bad," for which he earned an Emmy and Golden Globe.
Regardless of ranking this role among the other notable characters he's played, Cranston feels Trumbo was an important figure for the era.
"I don't know if I've ranked him. Dalton Trumbo wouldn't call himself a hero, but his actions were heroic. He didn't want this fight, but the fight came to him. In a way it was self-defense and he happened - his actions happened to bring an end to a dark period in American history."
The movie also stars Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren playing gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, and Diane Lane co-stars as Trumbo's wife.
