LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The 24th James Bond's film, "Spectre," encountered a 50 percent decline of ticket sales from last weekend, but the latest 007 flick still was the most-popular movie in North America on Sunday.

Box office projections from Sony forecast a 35.4 million U.S. dollars take for "Spectre" this weekend, adding to a 130.7 million dollars total over 10 days, according to figures gathered by Rentrak.

The second weekend percentage hold for "Spectre" was stronger than both the second weekend percentage hold of 2012's "Skyfall" and the second weekend hold of 2008's "Quantum of Solace."

"The Peanuts Movie" finished in second place for the second weekend. The 3D Charlie Brown computer animated adaptation from Fox and Blue Sky was down 45 percent from last weekend. It was on track to deal 24.2 million dollars in tickets this weekend, and 82.5 million dollars over 10 days.

CBS Films' and Lionsgate's "Love The Coopers" debuted in third place, with an 8.4 million dollars estimated gate.

"Love The Coopers" has been received poorly by critics, only 17 percent of approval rate from Rotten Tomatoes and received an underwhelming "B-" rating from first-night moviegoers on CinemaScore.

"The Martian" was in fourth place, at 6.7 million dollars this weekend and a seven-week total of 207.4 million dollars in North America.

That places the film 21 percent ahead of the 171.5 million dollars grossed by last year's "Interstellar" after 45 days of wide release and 14 percent behind the 240.4 million dollars 45-day gross of 2013's "Gravity."

Internationally, "The Martian" has moved ahead of "San Andreas" and into eleventh position for the year with a 477.9 million dollars.

Rounding out the 10 most-popular films in the U.S. and Canada this weekend were "The 33" (5.8 million dollars), "Goosebumps" (4.7 million), "Bridge Of Spies" (4.3 million), "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" (2.4 million), "Hotel Transylvania 2" (2.4 million) and "The Last Witch Hunter" (1.5 million).
