LOS ANGELES, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Melissa McCarthy's "The Boss" nudged ahead of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" by small margins at North American box office this weekend.
Starring McCarthy, "The Boss" was projected to bring in 23.5 million U.S. dollars in box office sales in the United States and Canada this weekend, according to comScore, an American Internet analytics company.
That was just a nose ahead of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice," which was projected to deal 23.4 million dollars in sales. The superhero film from Warner Bros. has grossed 296.7 million dollars in domestic sales over three weeks of exhibition, just ahead of the other big springtime release "Zootopia."
Disney cartoon feature "Zootopia" was in third place this weekend, at 14.4 million dollars, and has 296 million dollars in total in the U.S.-Canadian market from its six weeks of showing.
Rounding out the rest 10 most-popular movies this week were "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" (6.4 million dollars), "Hardcore Harry" (5 million), "Miracles From Heaven" (4.8 million), "God's Not Dead 2" (4.3 million), "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" (3.6 million), "10 Cloverfield Lane" (3 million) and "Eye In The Sky" (2.8 million).
