国内英语新闻:Top legislature to evaluate enterprise promotion policies
BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislature is to conduct an evaluation of the effects of various policies made in accordance with the country's Law on Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME).
The evaluation will target policies concerned with providing financial support for SMEs, expanding direct financing channels and encouraging the founding of such companies, according to a statement released Friday by the Commission of Legislative Affairs of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.
The plan came after Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC, stressed that post-legislation evaluation is a new measure to strengthen and improve the country's legislative work.
According to Wu, such investigations should focus on the scientific level, feasibility and effectiveness of a law system by objectively analyzing experiences of the implementation of related laws and regulations.
The upcoming evaluation will be based on online surveys focusing on various SMEs and other related financial, investment and employment institutions.
The Law on Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, which took effect in 2003, is a key legal document on improving the environment and development of SMEs while boosting employment in urban and rural areas.
