国内英语新闻:State councilor meets Austrian Gov. of Salzburg

BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- State Councilor Dai Bingguo met with Governor of the Austrian State of Salzburg Gabi Burgstaller here on Tuesday.

Speaking of the smooth development of China-Austria relations, Dai said China attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Austria and is ready for further substantial cooperation.

Salzburg has played an important and unique role in the development of bilateral relations, he added, calling on the two sides to conduct more reciprocal cooperation.

Salzburg has established friendly relations with Chinese provinces such as Heilongjiang in northeast China and Hainan in the south, and shared positive cooperation with the Chinese side, Burgstaller said. He also expressed willingness to further cooperation with China in areas of trade, culture and tourism.

Dai also briefed guests on China's social and economic development.
