国内英语新闻:Senior legislators study Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy
BEIJING, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Members of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee Chairpersons' Council on Sunday studied Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy.
As the latest theoretical achievement and precious spiritual wealth of Chinese diplomacy, the Thought provides fundamental principles and a guide to action for the work of foreign affairs in the new era, according to a statement issued after the meeting, presided over by Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.
The statement said the diplomacy in the new era is designed, deployed and led by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The Belt and Road cooperation has become the world's largest platform of open cooperation nowadays. The building of a community with a shared future for humanity has provided guidelines for China to deeply participate in global governance and promote the reform of the international system, according to the statement.
In implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, the people's congresses should strengthen and improve their work of foreign affairs to make a greater contribution to serving national strategies and safeguarding national interests, according to the statement
