国内英语新闻:China to set demonstration areas on rule-of-law for gov'ts
BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- China will launch a series of evaluations this year to set up demonstration areas on the rule-of-law for governments, according to the office on law-based governance of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The demonstration areas will be the first of their kind, and be mainly open to municipal and county governments, as evaluations will be carried out once every two years, the office said.
The governments will be evaluated on issues including the fulfillment of duties, major decision-making, and administrative law enforcement, according to an official with the office.
Setting up the demonstration areas will provide examples for local governments and departments to use for reference and emulate, and lay the foundation for furthering the rule-of-law for governments, experts said.
