国内英语新闻:Chinese bankers upbeat on economy
BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese bankers are generally upbeat on the country's economic growth, the central bank found in a survey.
About 74.6 percent of surveyed senior management in roughly 3,200 banking institutions thought the macro economy in the second quarter (Q2) of the year was operating normally, according to a report by the People's Bank of China.
The banking sector's business activities cooled compared with Q1, while profitability remained flat.
The survey showed that aggregate loan demand dropped from last quarter, while that for the manufacturing sector and infrastructure both fell.
About 83.4 percent of the bankers thought the current monetary policy was moderate, while 13.5 percent deemed it as loose.
