国内英语新闻:China's State Council Information Office holds 2020 New Year reception
BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- The State Council Information Office held a New Year reception at the National Museum of China Monday, attended by more than 400 Chinese and foreign guests.
Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the reception.
The reception invited members of Chinese and foreign media, spokespersons of central and state organs, foreign diplomatic envoys, and representatives of international organizations.
Noting that 2020 marks the year to finish building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and the final year of the 13th Five-Year Plan, Huang said he hopes foreign friends will learn more about what is taking place during China's development.
He also thanked the guests for their efforts in telling Chinese stories to the world and promoting exchanges between China and the world.
Xu Lin, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and director of the State Council Information Office, said the office would make joint efforts with friends from all fields to show real, vivid and comprehensive images of China to the world.
