BEIJING, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) held a group study session on Tuesday to study the spirit of last week's central conference on work related to overall law-based governance as well as a speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, at the conference.

Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CCDI, presided over the session.

As political organs as well as discipline and law enforcement organs, Party discipline inspection commissions and supervision agencies should more consciously study and practice Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, according to a statement issued after the session.

The statement asked these agencies to uphold the leadership of the CPC, use law-based thinking and approach to combat graft, and strive to show greater sense of responsibility and better performance in advancing law-based governance in all respects.

Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law represents the latest achievement in adapting Marxist theories on the rule of law to the Chinese context, serving as the fundamental guideline for overall law-based governance in China, it read.

The statement stressed efforts to consciously apply Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law to equip minds, guide actions and advance work so as to promote high-quality discipline inspection and supervisory work in the new era.
