体坛英语新闻:Primera Liga preview: Real hope to keep unbeaten record for Madrid derby
MADRID, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Madrid derby between Real and Atletico Madrid is the standout game in the 13th round of matches in the Spanish BBVA Primera Liga this weekend.
Real Madrid go into the table with a three-point lead over FC Barcelona and with their confidence sky high following the 6-2 win over Dynamo Zagreb in midweek in which Jose Mourinho was also able to rest key players.
Mourinho's side also know they have not lost to their neighbors since 1999.
Real Madrid will bring Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Iker Casillas and probably Alvaro Arbeloa back into their starting side for the game, whereas Atletico will bring Jose Antonio Reyes back into the side.
Reyes was vital for Atletico in their 3-2 win over Levante at the weekend as he turned around a poor first half display to allow his side take all three points. Coach Gregorio Manzano is already being criticized by the fans and he will be hoping striker Radamal Falcao has recovered from the hamstring injury which has sidelined him for the past three weeks.
Barcelona meanwhile travel to the capital in order to play Getafe in a game that Barca coach Pep Guardiola has described as one that 'is going to be terribly hard.'
Barca travel on the back of their win away to AC Milan and Guardiola will continue with his policy of squad rotations although Leo Messi is almost certain to start.
Saturday is a busy day in the capital with Rayo Vallecano entertaining Valencia. Some have complained that so many games in Madrid, with the derby the standout game, will affect turnout at Rayo and Getafe, but Rayo' s fans will be out on force to cheer on their side, which has had an excellent start to the campaign.
Valencia are third in the table, although their 3-2 defeat to Madrid last weekend leaves them trailing in the race for the title.
Sunday kicks off with the two sides most struggling for form playing each other as Betis entertain Real Sociedad. Real Sociedad have not won since the third week of the season, while Betis have lost their last eight games. Both coaches, Pepe Mel and Philippe Montanier, could lose their jobs should their side fail to win.
Levante look to get their season back on track and end a three-game losing streak when they entertain Sporting Gijon. The heavy rain in Valencia will mean the pitch in the Ciudad de Valencia Stadium is not in good condition.
Mallorca coach Joaquin Caparros is still looking for his first win at the club, but his side will be favorites against the side bottom of the table.
There should be a tight game between Espanyol and Osasuna, while Athletic Club Bilbao aim to continue their climb up the table at home to Granada. Athletic have not lost in 12 games and produced an excellent display to win away to Sevilla last weekend.
Coach Marcelo Bielsa also recovers Ander Iturraspe and Fernando Amorebieta for his first team squad.
Sevilla have to bounce back to form in what is a key game for rivals Zaragoza, who have not won for five games and have slipped to fourth from bottom of the table.
The round of games finishes on Monday when Malaga entertain Villarreal.
