BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese pair Zhang Yanquan/Cao Yuan met little challenge to pocket the men's 10m synchro platform title for the second consecutive leg in the 2012 FINA Diving World Series here on Friday.

British prodigy Thomas Daley partnered with Peter Waterfield to take silver in the event at the Water Cube, which was the venue for swimming and diving competitions during the 2008 Olympic Games.

"I'm happy with the performance. While we still have much space to get better and I'm looking forward to London 2012," said the 17-year-old Daley.

"I'd like to become a TV presenter after retirement, I think media can help me a lot. But right now the main focus for me is trainning as hard as I can," he added.

Zhang/Cao impressed the home crowd with a nearly perfect performance and amassed 480.18 points from six dives, 42.78 points ahead Daley and Waterfield. The bronze medals were taken by Patrick Hausding/Sascha Klein from Germany, who chalked up 431.64 points.

In women's synchro 10m platform, 20-year-old Olympic champion Chen Ruolin snatched the gold, edging her teammate Hu Yadan to a close second. The bronze went to Malaysia's Pandelela Pamg.

The 2012 FINA Diving World Series include four meets in Dubai (UAE), Beijing (China), Moscow (Russia) and Tijuana (Mexico).
