体坛英语新闻：Azarenka eases into 3rd round at French Open

PARIS, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Top seed Victoria Azarenka put on an inspiring performance to reach the third round of the French Open with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Dinah Pfizenmaier of Germany on Wednesday.

The Australian Open champion from Belarus committed only 11 unforced errors and converted five of seven break points to devastate Pfizenmaier.

In the first round, Azarenka struggled early before winning 12 of the final 14 games to advance. She committed 60 unforced errors in that opening match

The current world number one could not explain why she could play in a way different from last match.

"It was a different game, I didn't really know my opponet, and it toook me first few games to kind of understand what she does and what kind of game she plays to adjust a little bit," she said. "But since after a few games, I started to find my better rhythm. Definitely I plyaed much better today."

"I'm just out there trying to do the best I can. And I think winning form when you're so much down makes a pretty good statement already," she added.

Azarenka reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros last year, matching her best performance at the clay-court Grand Slam.
