体坛英语新闻:Ronaldinho raises lawsuit against Flamengo to 27
RIO DE JANEIRO, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Ronaldinho has raised his lawsuit against former club Flamengo to 27 million US dollars after filing a new seven million-dollar claim for moral damages.
The two-time FIFA world player of the year and World Cup winner submitted the latest action to a Rio de Janeiro court on Thursday, his lawyer Sergio Queiroz said.
It comes less than a month after the former Barcelona and AC Milan star quit Flamengo and sued the club for 20 million US dollars in unpaid wages.
Four days later he signed with the Rio outfit' s Brazilian Serie A rival Atletico Mineiro.
The new action is understood to relate to accusations from Flamengo it had evidence of Ronaldinho' s alleged drunken appearance at a training session earlier this year, a claim the club has been unable to prove.
Ronaldinho is also aggrieved by Flamengo' s release of a video allegedly showing he spent a night with a female guest at the team' s hotel in January.
"Ronaldinho feels hurt and is seeking compensation for the damage to his reputation among friends, family and the greater public, which includes fans all over the world," Queiroz said.
Flamengo could not be reached for comment by Xinhua on Thursday.
