BERLIN, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- German record champions Bayern Munich claimed a comfortable 3-0 win against newcomer Greuther Fuerth while Juan Arangos dead ball goal sealed the win for Monchengladbach over Hoffenheim, at the opening round of Bundesliga on Saturday.

Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich staged a faultless performance against newcomer rivals Greuther Fuerth that got taught a lesson in first division.

The Bavarians remained in control of the ball, during the first half, but lacked in creativity in front of Fuerths goal. Two minutes before break Bayern midfielder Thomas Mueller opened the scoring by a poacher's goal, when he exploited a failed clearance inside the box by Fuerth defender Heinrich Schmidtgal.

After the break Bayern kept running on Fuerths goal to double the lead at the 59th minute. Dutchman Arjen Robben had set up for new arrival striker Mario Mandzukic who headed home from close range.

The Bavarians were not done with the scoring since Fuerth defender Thomas Kleine tripled the lead for the visitors, when he accidentally deflected a cross by Arjen Robben, into his own goal to mark the final score.

Borussia Monchengladbach and Hoffenheim staged a clumsy performance at the first half.

It were the "Foals" that ensured the only highlight of the first half as striker Mike Hanke marked the opener by header, following a set by piece situation at the 33rd minute.

After interval Hoffenheim took over control to level the score at the 66th minute. Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino nodded home the equalizer from close range following a parried ball by Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen.

However, the Foals came back, 10 minutes before final whistle, when Juan Arango curled a dead ball into top right corner to seal the first victory of the season.

Stuttgart lost to Wolfsburg 1-0 owing to the winner by new arrival striker Bas Dost at the 90th minute. Two minutes earlier Stuttgart striker Vedad Ibisevic had the victory on his foot, but Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio parried his penalty.

Elsewhere, Hamburg started with a setback into the new season following a 1-0 loss to Nuremberg whilst newly promoted Dusseldorf claimed a 2-0 victory over Augsburg. Freiburg shared points with Mainz after 1-1 tie and Frankfurt came from behind to shock Leverkusen 2-1.
