体坛英语新闻:Barca move 8 clear of Madrid in Spain's matchday 4
MADRID, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona opened up an eight-point lead over Real Madrid in the fourth round of matches in the BBVA Primera Liga in Spain.
Barcelona and Madrid both played their matches on Saturday night as a result of the coming week's Champions League commitments and Barca took advantage of their earlier kick-off time to pressure the side that seems destined to be their rivals for the title.
Playing in a ground where they had lost last season, Barca produced a controlled display and took the lead as Adriano followed up good work from Cesc Fabrigas to celebrate his 200th league game with a goal.
Leo Messi, who started the game as a substitute, scored twice in the second half to put the result beyond doubt and David Villa rounded off the night with Barca's fourth goal on a night where the only bad news was a knee injury suffered by Carles Puyol.
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has criticized his side several times this season and announced "at the moment, I don't have a team" after his side crashed to a 1-0 defeat in Sevilla.
Petr Trochovski's second minute goal made the difference between the two teams and although Madrid did have chances to equalize the game, the fact is they were a long way below their best.
Saturday kicked off with Malaga continuing a good start to the campaign with a 3-1 home win against Levante. Debutant Javier Saviola enjoyed the afternoon, opening the scoring and setting up Joaquin Sanchez for his side's second after Michel had equalized with a thumping shot just after half time.
Francisco Portillo assured the points in injury time as he volleyed Malaga's third goal of the night.
Valencia had to work hard to defeat Celta Vigo and take their first win of the season. Sofaine Feghouli and Aly Cissokho scored for the home side against a tough opponent, who leveled with a close range goal from MartinKrohn-Delhi.
Aritz Aduriz was the hero for Athletic Club Bilbao who came back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 away to Espanyol in a game in which neither side was able to shut things down in defense. The best news for Athletic was the return of Fernando Llorente, who scored his side's second goal against a rival still looking for its first win of the season.
Granada and Deportivo la Coruna drew a tedious match 1-1, a result that leaves Deportivo undefeated and Granada searching for their first win of the campaign.
Osasuna are also still without a win after a 1-1 draw against Mallorca. Kike Sola scored for the home side with 20 minutes remaining, but Tomer Hemed leveled 10 minutes later in a game in which both sides ended with 10 after red cards were shown to Joseba Llorente and Jose Nunes.
Real Sociedad claimed their second home win as second half goals from Inigo Martinez and Carlos Vela saw them to a 2-0 triumph against Zaragoza.
Atletico Madrid ended the night with a 4-3 home win against Rayo Vallecano. Mario Suarez opened the scoring in the first half and the floodgates opened after the break with Koke, Arda Turan and Radamal Falcao all scoring in a six minute period.
Atletico looked to be cruising but the entry of Rayo substitute Andrija Delebasic changed the the game as he scored twice in the last 10 minutes and Leo's 89th minute strike left home fans asking for the final whistle.
