体坛英语新闻:Ronaldinho sparks dramatic Atletico victory
RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Ronaldinho's Atletico Mineiro scored two goals in the final 15 minutes to snatch a dramatic 2-1 victory over Sport in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.
Hugo's header gave the visitors an early lead before former Guangzhou R&F striker Leonardo equalized by nodding in Ronaldinho's deft 75th-minute cross which floated over a sea of Sport defenders.
Atletico then completed an unlikely victory when Leonardo tapped in Bernard's unselfish pass in the first minute of injury time.
The result maintains Atletico's hold on second spot in the standings and keeps alive the club's slim title hopes. The Belo Horizonte outfit remains nine points behind leaders Fluminense with eight rounds remaining.
"A game like this makes us believe that we can still win it (the title)," Ronaldinho said after the match.
"We have to keep thinking only about winning our matches. The rest will depend on Fluminense tripping up. But we are in there with a fighting chance."
In other results on Sunday, Sao Paulo moved into the top four with a 2-0 victory over Figueirense, Santos defeated Vasco da Gama 2-0, Fluminense beat Ponte Preta 2-1 and Gremio drew 1-1 with Botafogo.
