体坛英语新闻:Juventus beat Bologna thanks to last-gasp goal

ROME, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Juventus stretched their unbeaten streak in Serie A to 49 matches on Wednesday after they beat Bologna 2-1 thanks to a last-gasp goal from Paul Pogba.

Fabio Quagliarella gave the hosts a 1-0 lead just nine minutes after the restart, and Bologna equalized in the 71st minute when Saphir Sliti Taider slotted his shot past a helpless Gianluigi Buffon.

With time running out, Paul Pogba won a free kick on the right side and headed in Sebastian Giovinco's cross to seal the three points for Juventus.

Juventus assistant manager Angelo Alessio was glad of the victory over Bologna, but still gave hero Paul Pogba a telling off for being "lazy."

"Pogba did very well with the goal, but he still needs to improve," noted Alessio. "He played an excellent opening 20 minutes, then became a little lazy and that is unacceptable.

"All games should be approached with the same level of determination, even more so against the 'smaller' clubs. We were able to win in stoppages, albeit in the final minutes, but could've won it earlier," he said.

Inter Milan moved into second place with a 3-2 win over Sampdoria, and maintain the pressure on Juventus.

Sampdoria took a 1-0 lead into half time after a 20th minute goal from Gianni Munari. But momentum swung Inter's way when Sampdoria defender Andrea Costa was sent off for bringing down Diego Milito in the penalty area.

Milito converted from the spot before goals to Rodrigo Palacio and Fredy Guarin gave Inter a 3-1 lead. Citadin Eder scored a consolation goal in stoppage time for Sampdoria.

Inter head coach Andrea Stramaccioni said Inter "are growing game by game" towards maturity.

"We are growing game by game and today the performance showed important signs in terms of our style of play," he said.

"In any case, now we have proved that we have a very able forward line, but going into second place does not change our objectives," he added.

Napoli fell six points behind Juventus with a 1-0 defeat at Atalanta. A 19th minute volley from Carlos Carmona was enough to seal the three points for the hosts, moving them into 10th spot.

Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri was again left to rue mistakes in front of goal by his side.

"This game was cursed," shrugged Mazzarri.

"We controlled it from start to finish. We had at least seven shots on goal, while they scored at the only opportunity. We immediately realized it was an off day.

Siena failed to move from the bottom of the table following a 4-2 defeat against Cagliari.

Two goals in as many minutes helped Chievo Verona move out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Pescara adding further woe to the Delfini's season. A Siqueira Luciano penalty and Adrian Stoian goal a minute later pushed Chievo into 15th place.

Elsewhere, Lazio and Torino shared a 1-1 draw. The guests took the lead after just 10 minutes when Kamil Glik headed home but Champions League chasing Lazio restored parity thanks to Stefano Mauri's 57th-minute effort.

Parma came from behind to take all three points with a 3-2 win against Roma and leapfrog their opponents in the table.

Veteran striker Antonio Di Natale scored an injury-time equalizer as Udinese salvaged a 2-2 draw with Catania.
