体坛英语新闻:Bremen and Wolfsburg victorious in German Bundesliga
BERLIN, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Ten men Werder Bremen came from behind to crave out a hard earned 2-1 win over Dusseldorf thanks to the winner by De Bruyne meanwhile Wolfsburg edged Hoffenheim 3-1 to close the 12th round in Bundesliga on Sunday.
Bremen took over control after kickoff but it were newly promoted Dusseldorf that opened the scoring with ten minutes into the match.
Bremen's Sokratis had brought down Robbie Kruse inside the box to ensure a penalty for the visitors. Dusseldorf's Jens Langeneke stepped up to convert the penalty successfully to give his side the lead.
With the neat lead behind Dusseldorf defended deep in their half so that Bremen was able to gain the upper hand as the match progressed.
However, the "Werderaner" were rewarded after the restart as Nils Petersen headed home a cross between two defenders to neutralize the scores.
Bremen kept things firmly in their hands, although Assani Lukimya was sent off for his second bookable offence at the 77th minute.
Ten men Bremen remained unfazed by the dismissal, as they were able to score the winner at the 82nd minute through Kevin De Bruyne.
"We rewarded ourselves with the equalizer and from then on we were in the game. Our will carried us to this success," Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf said.
Elsewhere, Wolfsburg wrapped up their second consecutive win owing to their 3-1 victory at Hoffenheim.
The "Wolves" caught the hosts flatfooted as Makoto Hasebe headed home at the second post Ivica Olics cross, with only seven minutes on the clock.
Subsequently, Hoffenheim pressed for the equalizer but it were yet Wolfsburg that extended the lead at the 23rd minute through Bas Dost who exploited a pass into path by Josue following a turn over.
Wolfsburg was not done with the scoring as Naldo's dead ball goal from 28 meters smoothed the way for the victory ahead of time.
In the dying minutes of the match Hoffenheim's Eren Derdiyok was able to score the consolation by header.
"We did not gain a foothold into the match. We committed naive errors and were punished," Hoffenheim coach Markus Babbel said.
