ROME, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Fiorentina had officially announced the signing of Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi, the Florence Serie A confirmed on their website on Friday.

Fiorentina admitted that they had reached an agreement with the Spanish club for the striker, with just personal terms to be settled.

"ACF Fiorentina and CF Villarreal have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Giuseppe Rossi on a permanent deal, subject to the signing of the contract by the player," violachannel.tv has announced.

Rossi last played in Serie A in 2007 when he joined Parma on loan from Manchester United.
