体坛英语新闻:Ronaldo own goal sees Real Madrid lose in Granada

2013-02-11来源:Xinhuanet

MADRID, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game, but unfortunately it was in his own net as Real Madrid lost 1-0 away to struggling Granada.

Ronaldo flicked a corner past goalkeeper, Diego Lopez into the Madrid goal after 22 minutes in what was a stroke of bad luck, which gave Granada coach, Lucas Alcaraz a win on his debut as Malaga coach.

However, there was no luck in Granada' s win as Real Madrid produced one of their worst displays in a long time and only rarely threatened the Granada goal.

The Madrid midfield failed to string many passes together and when Karim Benzema finally had a good chance to score in the last five minutes, he side-footed wide of an open goal.

Madrid may have claimed some tiredness after their Copa del Rey game at home to Barcelona on Wednesday night, but with the most expensive squad in Spain they have no excuse for such a poor display and were lucky to end the game with 11 players on the pitch after referee Muniz Fernandez let Luka Modric off what should have been a second yellow card for a clear handball.

The day kicked off with Osasuna climbing out of the relegation zone thanks to a narrow, but well-deserved 1-0 win at home to Celta Vigo.

Dani Armenteros' low shot early in the second half gave Osasuna the points, but the win would have been more comfortable had it not been for a fine display from Celta keeper, Javi Varas.

Getafe came back from being a man and a goal down early in the game to defeat struggling Deportivo la Coruna 3-1. Deportivo went ahead after 11 minutes after goalkeeper, Miguel Angel Moya was sent off for bringing down Riki in the Getafe area. Pizzi scored the penalty, but Diego Castro leveled for 10-man Getafe, also with a penalty.

Deportivo had Abel Aguilar sent off with 20 minutes to go and Getafe won the game with late goals from Alvaro Vazquez and Adrian Colunga.

Espanyol's climb away from danger continues with a 3-2 win at home to Levante. An own goal coupled to strikes from Christian Stuani and Sergio Garcia were enough to get the getter of goals from Ruben Garcia and Obi Martins.
