体坛英语新闻：Sports celebrities involved in murder cases

BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- South Africa’ s Olympic and Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius was charged with murdering his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

However, Pristorius is not the first sports star to become involved in a murder case.

Here are some of those who have previously found themselves on the wrong side of the law:

Carlos Monzon: the Argentine world middleweight boxing champion from 1970 to 1977 was considered one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the history of the sport, but he was jailed for 11 years in 1989 for the murder of his third wife, who he threw out of a window during a violent row. Freed on parole, he died in a road accident in 1995.
