体坛英语新闻:China lost one gold at Diving World Series Dubai

DUBAI, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese divers failed to make a clean sweep at the FINA Diving World Series 2013 which ended here Saturday.

The only gold medal China lost is the men's 3m springboard, which was won by Illya Kvasha from Ukraine. Kvasha hit gold with a score of 493.40 points. Javier Illana Garcia from Spain took the silver in 468.20, while He Chong, China, only settled for a bronze with 466.35.

Except this one, China took all the other gold medals.

Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia kicked off the series of Chinese victories on Thursday by winning the women's 10m synchro platform competition. The gold medal of the men's 10m synchro platform went to Lin Yue and Chen Aisen. He Zi and Wang Han claimed the women's 3m synchro springboard, while the men's springboard synchro title went to Qin Kai and He Chong.

He Zi also won the women's 3m Friday, achieving 391.20 points. Silver and bronze medals were achieved by Jennifer Abel from Canada and the Ukraine's Olena Fedorova.

By scoring 403.85 points, Chen Ruolin won her second gold medal in the women's 10 meters platform. Chen beat Canada's Meaghan Benefeito and Yulia Kultunova from Russia.

Lin Yue also claimed his second gold in Dubai in the men's 10m platform, while Chen Aisen finished second. The bronze medal went to Victor Minibaev from Russia.
